Baby Point

Historic stone gates at the corner of Jane Street and Baby Point Road mark the entrance to this exclusive west end neighbourhood which is situated on a peninsula of land overlooking the Humber River. It is surrounded by ravine and parkland, bounded on the West by the Humber River, from south of Baby Point Crescent to St. Marks Road, east to Jane Street, south to Raymond Avenue and Raymond Avenue west to The Humber River.

Baby Point (pronounced ‘Bobby Point’), was named after James Baby, a member of a prominent Quebec fur trading familyand former politician. Its residents enjoy the offerings of nearby shopping areas on Annette and Jane Streets, with their eclectic mix of stores and restaurants. As well, Baby Point homeowners are a 15 minute walk from the popular Bloor West Village shopping district which includes cafés, shops, restaurants, fruit &vegetable marketsand flower shops.

The streets of Baby Point feature large English Manor Houses, built in the early 1900s, shaded by towering Oak trees, as well as more modest two-storey homes, built in the mid-1900s. These homes commonly feature rich oak trim and doors, and fireplaces.

The availability of many outdoor activities, due to Baby Point’s proximity to parks, tennis courts and walking trails, as well as the activities offered by the private neighbourhood ‘Baby Point Club’, makes this a very desirable neighbourhood for families and singles alike.

A quick bus ride to Jane Station allows access to downtown Toronto in15-20 minutes. Travel by car to either downtown Toronto or the airport is easily accessed via the Gardiner Expressway, from the foot of South Kingsway.
